Greetings Citizens of Novus!

We know you have been toiling hard to survive in the Novus War and have endured the extreme and harsh conditions of the planet and its inhabitants. From the old days of Episode 1: Operation Zone Domination where you've stayed for hours inside the dark realm of the Battle Dungeon to reach level 50 to the days of Episode 2: Pioneers of Novus where you have continued to prepare for the coming of a new age to quench your thirst for battle.

Episode 2: Crimson Dawn came and you have seen what the Inferno Siege Kit, Red MAU and Blood Isis can do. But unexpectedly, you have been attacked from all sides by those who have fallen into becoming proponents of unfair and unjustifiable acts that almost led to the destruction of the game.

Yet you've stayed and had hoped that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You have persevered and wished for the nightmare to end. And so Episode 2: Novus Rising came and have shone a ray of hope to those who have lived and survived the Crimson Dawn. Indeed, the soldiers of Novus have risen out of the ashes and have begun to re-establish their dominance in this war.

Yet what lies beyond the horizon? After all the pain and suffering, shouldn't one be rewarded for his loyalty to his race, to his comrades? Shouldn't one be at peace and finally retire from this war?


We don't think so.


For the RF team is pleased to announce that the new update for RF Online is finally here. Get ready as the Golden Age has ushered in a new gaming experience for those loyal soldiers of Novus. It is time once more for you and your race mates to take up arms and rally for a new battle that is about to ensue.

Here is some of what you would expect in the Golden Age of RF Online:

Tired of the stinking experience gain from the same old monsters in Outcast Land? Maybe you want a change of scenery? Well don’t worry, the Golden Age has provided more powerlevelling spots for you and your party. The second level of the Kartella Bio Lab is now available for access for players level 61 and up. What creatures lurk within its depths? And what is the reason that Thor, the Black Sign Commander, has been standing guard at its doors for so long?

We’ll let you find out for yourselves.

The Gods of War in Novus have seen the efforts of the warriors of Novus and therefore has given them new skills for their survival and durability in battle. These skills are immediately applied once a character has changed into their second job class at level 40 and are available to all warrior job classes.

The new skills are the following:

Acceleration
Increases Movement for 10 sec. at the cost of 90 FP.

Now this update isn’t called The Golden Age for no reason at all as the Golden NPC’s have arrived in Novus to bring tidings of prosperity and mirth. On special (GM announced) times, the Gold Capsules will be enabled allowing players to consume them to receive Gold Points. The Gold Points can be spent on the powerful items sold by the Gold Vendor NPC’s.

These powerful items are a collection of +5 to +7 Lv. 40 Armor and Weapons whose power matches that of Lv. 55 Type B equipment, of the same upgrade. The NPC’s also sells helpful accessories, Jet Packs, Wind Weapons, and Special Type D Weapons, all for Gold Points.

Unfortunately such powerful items aren’t forever available. Their stock is limited, displayed by the number on the lower right of the icon. Once their stock runs out, players won’t be able to purchase items from them until they restock.

New Items are now available for purchase in the Item Mall for the typical Novus soldier. These items are designed to assist in your everyday battles and to make it life easier for you. Afraid to step out of your Sette Portals for fear of becoming somebody’s meal? You wouldn’t if you have these.

New Item Mall Items

                                                i.  Generators
Burst, Protect, and Penger/Panzer Generators are now available via Galactic Credits in the Item Mall, providing players a 20% bonus to their Attack, Defense, or MAU Attack as long as the generator(s) found in their inventory.

These Generator effects stack with Skills, Class Skills, Potions, and Other Generators. However these effects won’t stack with Generators of a similar type available via other means (contribution points, gold, etc.)

The Galactic Credit Generators are good for 30 Days. These Generators can’t be dropped, traded, or mailed. They can be sold to NPC’s, or kept in storage.

ii.  Stable Elem Upgraders [Blessed Lucky Jewelry Box]
Blessed Lucky Jewelry Boxes are now available for Galactic Credits. These special boxes when opened produce a random Stable Elem Upgrader for the basic max Elemental Accessories.

These upgraders are capable of randomly raising the attack of your accessories anywhere from 1 – 5% and its secondary ability by 1 – 5, depending on the upgraders level.

To use the upgraders, select Item Combination from the Hero NPC, and place the upgrader along with the elem to upgrade it.

Jewelry boxes can be dropped, traded, mailed, sold to NPC’s and kept in storage.

                                               iii. Slim Grenades
Empire technology has finally succeeded in applying the slim ammunition technology to Accretian Grenades.

These Slim grenade clips are capable of holding up to xxxxx rounds of ammunition, and are available from the Item mall for Galactic Credits.

 iv.  Full Recovery Potion
A new powerful potion has been developed, capable of recovering 100% of a players HP, FP, and SP with each consumption.

                                                v. Superior Equipment Socket Extenders and Upgraders
                   Socket Extension and Upgrader technology is now finally applicable to Superior Class equipment via Item Mall.

And finally, the gameplay itself has been changed. Think you know the game itself inside out? Don’t be too cocky. Your friendly neighborhood NPCs have gotten several changes as well.

Talic Collector
The Talic Collector NPC will now exchange talic crystals for every 20 talics you give them. The talics don’t have to be of one particular type. So long as all the talics total 20, you will receive a Talic Crystal.

Talic Crystals combined with cash may be used to exchange for high level gear from the Dark Ambassador NPC’s.

You can also combine a 2 Talic Crystals to create1 Compressed Talic Crystal which when combined with cash can be traded for high level gear from the Dragon Knight NPC.

Dark Ambassador and Dragon Knight
Drooling over the Superior armors and weapons by the Dark Ambassadors and Dragon Knight but can afford them? Don’t worry as the costs for the wares sold by the Dark Ambassadors and Dark Knight have been lowered.

Equipment boxes from the Dark Ambassador NPC’s when opened will provide a player with random pieces of their class gear, and shields.

Dark Knight NPC’s will provide either a random Lv. 50 Type N Armor for Talic Crystal, or a random Lv. 65 Type-B piece of you class armor for Compressed Talic Crystals Packs

Not getting much out of Premium Service? We’ll add more value to that when you load up because Premium accounts now get additional items whenever they login.

Aside from the 2 Generators, Premium accounts also get 30 Charms that either provides them with higher HP Regen, Faster Movement, and Reduction in Damage Over Time effects.

Tired of those pesky, just for show armors that fill up storage space? Not to worry as the special premium armors are made available at Lv.45, 50, 53, 55, 57, and 60 with their stats to match accordingly.

We have been informed by CCR (RF Game Developer) that as of today, December 2, 2009, server maintenance will continue until further notice to give way for the Server Merge.

This server merge is one of the most important changes to happen to RF Online Philippines. But more is coming over the horizon!

We are also very pleased to inform you that Novus has just begun to rise. What does that mean? It means that the current patch of RF Online Philippines, Novus Rising, will have an Expansion update titled "The Golden Age". That's right…the war in Novus will be much more intense as the Novus Rising Expansion features more items, equipment and weapons to get your sweaty hands on.

Need more PL spots? Why not try the second level of the Kartella Biolab, or the new Level 56 to 66 Battle Dungeon? Or why not try the new creatures that came out of their holes in Outcast Land?

These are some of the many features of the Novus Rising Expansion Update. A list of the full features as well as the date of implementation will be posted soon so stay tuned.

- Once the merge is completed, if you access the game, characters you have leveled up from the three servers will be shown in a window and you can choose 3 characters to recover.

- No matter how many characters you had before the server merge, you can only have 3 characters in the merged server.

- After character recovery, if there are available slots or if a character is deleted, you can recover the character from the previous servers.

- We understand that you need to prepare your inventory before the merge. In line with this we will be enabling the character deletion feature for characters level 40 below so you can manage your storage accounts.

2.) After server merge, characters that have never been accessed AFTER their creation will be excluded from recovery and will be deleted. If the character has been accessed even for 1 second, it will not be deleted and will be available for character recovery.

3.) After the server merge, the rule for the character name choice will be based on a first-come-first-served basis.

- During character recovery after the server merge, the one who chooses the character name first would have the right to use that name. However in case of doubled names, you can change your character name. If you have a character in Nexus, for example, that has the same name as a character in Praxis, login first using the character that you want to retain its name in the new server and then login using the second one. A system prompt will inform you that the name has been taken and that you need to change the name.

- Once a name is taken, you will be prompted to choose a different name.

4.) After the server merge, the item(s) left in the mail box of the previous servers will not be transferred to the recovered character. Please make sure to get all the items in your mailbox before the server merge.

TIP: Make sure that the all the items you want to save are in the inventories of the 3 characters that you choose to be recovered. Any character that you do not choose will not be recovered along with the items in the character's inventory and therefore will automatically be deleted.


Guild Fund and Creation Cost and Emblem Purchase

1.) During server merge, guild funds will be reset.

- The guild funds will be removed upon server merge, so please make sure to withdraw all guild funds prior to server merge.

- Lost guild funds due to server merge cannot be recovered.

- Since the maximum game money that can be possessed by a character is 2 billion, please make sure to distribute it not above 2 billion per character.

- Character: race currency - 2 billion, gold - 500,000

- storage: race currency - 1 billion, gold - 500,000

2.) For 2 weeks after server merge, guild creation and purchasing will be free.


Contribution Point

-A Character's existing contribution points will not be affected by the server merge.

Buddy List

- During server merge, the buddy list will be reset.

• Hardcore servers Nexus and Praxis will be merged into one server.
• The servers Altrax, Xenos and Calix will be merged into one server.

The reasons behind the selections are as follows:

Both Nexus and Praxis has earned the name, "Hardcore server" and they have lived up to that name. These servers have given us the NEST finalists and it has been decided that the tough competition between the three races in these servers are ideal reasons for them to be merged into one server.

Xenos and Calix are new members to the RF Community and it would be unfair competition if they were pitted against the more veteran players of Nexus and Praxis due to the disparity in the items and equipments and the presence of highly competitive players in the hardcore servers.
And we know that Altrax server has requested not to be included in the merge due to their being a story server, but why not give a chance for a new story to be written and allow new members of the community to be a part of your story? This is not just “your” server; it’s for everyone who wants to play this great game. Let this server merge build camaraderie and acceptance and allow your community to grow instead of letting it become stagnant and unchanged

Inside the game or in real life, there are times when we experience hardships and troubles. It is during these times that we should solidify the community's bond in order to assure that we remain unchallenged. And if we do get challenged, we are united towards a common goal, and that is to play the game that we love and have grown up with.

The masters of mayhem, Wolfgang and Razorback, return to the scene of the crime with the forthcoming release of the much-awaited “Alive 2007” CD. The first of a series of onslaughts, it contains select but explosive live recordings from the reunion concert, which has since passed into legend, at the Music Museum.

“Alive 2007” is considered hallowed ground by both bands, marking the return of Wolfgang with the premiere of its critically-acclaimed first single “R.P. Deathsquad”, which ultimately, became the firing-pin for Wolfgang’s 6th studio album “Villains” in as many years as well as for a soon-to-be released series of brand-new singles by Razorback.

The “Alive 2007” CD is set to wreak havoc anew as it ships on July 7th and hits stores during the week of July 17th. Pre-selling kicks off now through the Alive07 Hotline 0915-6212189 and 0906-10353330 and via alive_2007@yahoo.com. The album captures 11 tracks of Wolfgang and Razorback playing together and alternately – bigger, stronger and faster -- on the same stage. Raging at full-throttle and running to CD capacity at 70 minutes, the material is “as much as we could cram into the disc,” nods Ramon Legaspi, Wolfgang bassist.

“This was the first time we did a show where both bands were featured, interweaving with each other,” said Basti Artadi, Wolfgang frontman. “Usually, one or the other opens and that’s it. At the “Alive 2007” concerts, it was more about playing on the stage as a unit, separate but still as one.” The result was an energy snarling from the combined intensity.

Tirso Ripoll, Razorback guitarist, said, “Both bands’ songs are always totally re-invented live from what’s on our albums. It’s always been a blast to play with Wolfgang and “Alive 2007” was really special as we hadn’t played together in years.”

He said, "I think for all of us the most important thing is that it gets done right. We did take our time to put in what we feel are some of the strongest, most-rocking bits."
                                 

Legarda grinned, "Better now than never."

As our promise to address the issue about the duped items polluting the RF community, stated below are the measures that we did to alleviate this issue.

The Dupe Wipe

The extended maintenance that we had today is due to these efforts, which lead to the deletion of some items that are most often duplicated. The items that have been deleted are listed below.

• Celebration box [small, medium, large]
• Ignorance box [small, medium, large]
• Favor Lucky box [small, medium, large]
• Lucky Set Gem of Exchanger
• 100% Pill

To address the loss of legal (those bought through the item mall) items, they will be returned in the form of Galactic Credits.

• Reimbursement of GC will commence once the servers are all up
• Traded item mall items will not be entertained and reimbursed.
• Consumed item mall items will not be entertained and reimbursed.
• Only item mall items bought from April 25 to June 9 (7:30am) will be reimbursed.

If you believe that an item mall item is not reimbursed after 6pm of June 10, please file a ticket under “Restoration” category with the following information:

The Compensation

                Getting quest from NPC >> doing the quest >> submission of the completed quest back to the NPC

To define:
                Unlimited/Repeatable – the same quest can be done more than once NORMALLY
                Stackable – stacking the same quest. So for example, you have a quest entitled QUEST1, you can have multiple QUEST1 in your quest list.

Stacking quest is bannable. But for the unlimited/repeatable quest should be done at most 5 times a day.

• All Characters with Level 57 or more with xx.xxx% of Experience will be reverted back to level 56 with a 0% Experience.
• All Characters that are level 51 as of May 29, 2009, and currently at level 55 above, regardless of their experience. Will be reverted back to their exact level on the said date.
• Characters that where currently at Level 56 with xx.xxx% of Experience will be reverted back to level 56 0%.

2. For those without existing Fireguard passwords the ff. window will pop up

REMINDER:  Enter your desired Fireguard Password; repeat for confirmation. Fireguard password should consist of a minimum of 8 alphanumeric characters. Once you've selected your password, enter you're secret question and answer for Fireguard Password Retrieval.

3.    Once you've successfully made your Fireguard password, the following window will appear,prompting you to enter your Fireguard password.

Important Notice: Remember to input the correct Fireguard password.Inputting an incorrect password will block your account for 24 hours. So be careful inputting your correct password.

4.  After inputting the correct Fireguard Password, you will be brought to the character selection screen.

5 To change your existing Fireguard password, go to the padlock icon of the lower left of the screen to change your Fireguard Password.

CAUTIONS for the UI LOCK SYSTEM

• The number of password errors is not cumulative. If you normally logged in after 4 errors, the number of password errors will return to 0.

• All application details of the UI Lock block cancellation are stored separately, and are managed/monitored by Fireguard.
  
• When wrong password is entered on the 5th attempt, your account will be blocked for 24 hours.

• If a player acquires any of these items unintentionally, we suggest selling it to the NPC immediately.

7. How will the RF Team address the current issues in the game?
    Here are the resolution and answers to the following issues:
        i. Compensation
           Compensations will be addressed by giving out mods, promos and events, which will be announced separately.
        ii. Server crashes
            Currently known ways to crash the server are no longer effective. However, we continue to request our players to remain vigilant and report to us should they discovered new ways to bring the server down.
        iii. Duped items that are circulating in the servers:
              Due to server crashes, duped items have been rampant. We will continue to investigate characters that possess illegal items. Permanent suspension will apply to characters that obtained duped items illegally. Considering that duped items have been circulating for months already, this may take a while. Thus, we are asking for your help in reporting players that possess illegal items. On the other hand, we're closely coordinating with CCR to help us trace and delete all duped items. You have our assurance that we are seriously working on this.
        iv. Disabled Account creation
        Account creation has been disabled to prevent nuisance players from creating new accounts of which they use as a tool to bring down the servers. Registration will be enabled once the new patch is launched.

8. Are the common bugs fixed in this patch?
    - Common bugs such as bug pots, ninja move, and guild and character rank bugs are all fixed.
    - Level 50+ characters can now run for archonship.

9.Will there be a new server on the launch of the new patch?
    As of the moment, there won’t be any new server launching anytime soon.

Server Crashes
Known ways to crash the server cannot be done anymore. On the other hand, please, please report it to us if there are other ways to do it.

Compensation
This is already under discussion and we'll posting updates on what the compensation are.

RF account creation
Account creation will be enabled once the new patch is commercially launched.

Duped items
We will still continue investigation on characters that possesses illegal items. Permanent suspension will still apply to characters that obtained duped items illegally. Considering that duped items have been circulating for months already, this may take a while. Still, we're asking for help from players to report players that possess illegal items. On the other hand, we're closely coordinating with CCR to help us minimize (if total eradication is not possible), to trace and delete all duped items. We'll keep you  posted.

Bloated Economy
This is also currently under discussion. This might come in forms of in-game events.

To end, the patch is here but the war is not yet over. We have more than 1 year worth mess to clean and we're still asking help from the players who still loves this game.
Like what I mentioned at the Live Blog, this patch are for all the players who loves this game, who stayed through thick and thin, who believed that there is still hope for this game, and for those who trusted the RF team and LU.

RF Online servers will undergo short maintenance from 7:30pm to 8:00pm today, March 23, to fix the log-in server connection failure.

We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Effective today March 19, 2009, at 6:00PM, We will be implementing Temporary security patch in all servers. This is part of our plan to lessen the server crashes that is quite rampant these past few days.

Please do not try to press the Y shortcut key for macro, to prevent you being kicked out of the server. However, you can still use the Macro system by accessing the User Interface shortcut manually.

The Implementation is indefinite; please refer to this announcement for future updates.

The brotherhood of wolves will perform next at the Mosaic Music Festival on March 22nd at the Esplanade – Theaters by the Bay in Singapore.

Interviewed out of the Lion City, about the process of transforming their recordings to acoustic performances, Basti Artadi said, "We simply change them. It would be pointless to try and capture the exact same thing as an electric recording when going acoustic, because it simply is a completely different animal.

"We do keep some similar elements, however, such as the drum breaks and the mid-section jamming to still connect it to the original," Artadi explained.

For Manuel Legarda, "I would try to pick out the most prominent guitar layer and prioritize that. If possible, I would sometimes blend two parts together and play them as one. For the acoustic shows, it's a little tougher so I also like re-working each song's arrangement to fit the acoustic instrument better. This usually involves changing the tempo, dynamics and chord voicings."

We, the RF Team are aware of the rampant server closures that have been happening as of late. We believe that this is no longer attempts at duping or cheating in-game, but rather a form of DDoS, or Denial of Service attacks, instigated by some high-profile players who were caught and sentenced to the Novus Death Hall.

We know that it seems like things are getting worse, but remember that the night is always darkest just before the dawn. These attacks are a desperate effort at getting back at those who remain vigilant and true to this game that we all love. Numerous and successive attacks on the servers tell us that these persons are getting more and more reckless. It's only a matter of time before we come up with a final solution to this problem and bring these evildoers to justice.

Just hang on, the light is shining at the end of the tunnel.

             On November 25, 2008 Xenos server suffered a massive attack by 3PP Users.  As a result, numerous illegally acquired items appeared in the server, causing instability in the server’s economy as well as grave unrest amongst its players.  Through the support of the community and vigilance of the Vanguard team, we were able to gather enough leads to trace these attacks back to its source.

            The RF Team agreed to implement a server rollback on Xenos Server ONLY. The rollback will revert the server timeline to its previous state at November 25, 2008 at 3:00 PM.As much as we don’t want a Rollback to happen, we should also take this matter into consideration.

             We are hoping players will be vigilant in every possible scenario, and if you have information regarding this outrageous incident, send an email to vessago@levelupgames.ph.

I got the chance to interview Wolfgang's Basti Artadi (thanks Lizza!) about their latest song, Novus is Burning. No, not personally. I wish! T_T

Cydie: How did wolfgang start and why did you guys fall to a slumber?

Basti: We started a long, long, long time ago -- just four guys who had a passion to make the same kind of music. There were many things that led to our hiatus, but i think it was ultimately many disappointments and promises that didnt happen that made us say, 'You know what -- let's lie low until something comes up that makes us want to do it again.'


Cydie: After 6 years, what made you guys come back?

Basti: The 'Alive' concerts and writing new material was the catalyst for everything happening now. In the end, if we didn't write music that we felt was good, we wouldn't be doing this. 'RP Death Squad' and 'Novus Is Burning' were a very big part because when we had finished writing them and looked at them, we knew that we still had something to say about music and that we still had the ability to write.


Cydie: Does this mean Wolfgang will be back for good?

Basti: We are still here -- we're just looking at things differently, not trying to burn ourselves out and concentrating more on quality as opposed to quantity.


Cydie: What made you guys create a song for RF Online?

Basti: RF Online approached us about doing a song for the game and we said sure. They asked us to pick a race to represent and we felt why pick a race when we can write a general song that could encompass the feeling of the game and its players and characters.


Cydie: How did you create the song? You really caught the whole idea of rf online.

Basti: Thanks, I just looked at it from a distance and asked myself, if I was in this world, what would I be feeling? What would I want to do to that S.O.B. in front of me and ultimately, the answer was obliterate him and everything else that gets in my way. haha


Cydie: If you are to play RF Online, what race will you choose and why?

Basti: I will opt out of this one, i feel that people take these things to heart and by choosing a side it would take away from the other. I am an equal opportunity person when it comes to destruction, haha


Cydie: Any message to your fans and RF Online players?

After 2 years of imprisonment, the three infamous Serial Killers of Novus- Smiley, Jack and Erzsebet - have escaped from the heavily guarded Vanguard Holding Facility (refer to Appendix A: “Footage from Vanguard Holding Facility Cameras”) and continued their killing spree with renewed vengeance and malice.

Since their escape, the killers have left a frenzied river of blood in their wake as the number of fatalities and strikes continue to rise.

The three first made their presence known to the citizens of Novus by posting in a supposedly restricted area of the Pan Galactic Infonet.

RF Online Philippines, one of the premiere online games by Level Up!, won the Games Category Award in the recently held annual DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2008 last November 5 in Taste Asia, at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

The 2nd DigitalFilipino Web Awards aims to advocate the use of Internet and e-Commerce for business development through the identification, promotion, and highlighting of best e-Commerce practices from various websites in the Philippines. All the websites were nominated either by the public as well as by those in the eCommerce industry.

The nominated websites were reviewed and judged openly by members of the DigitalFilipino.com Club. They were judged per category for their ability to create a noticeable presence on the Internet.

DigitalFilipino.com is an eFilipino website designed to cater to the needs of Filipinos who are interested in eCommerce. It started out as a simple website used to promote an eCommerce book back in 1999 entitled: DigitalFilipino: An E-Commerce Guide for the eFilipino. It has now grown into a site that kept track of the developments in web technology and its effect on the eFilipino.

RF Community Manager, Myla Rumbaoa together with Mike Togle, a freelance designer/developer for the RF Online website (who also developed the ROSE Online website), were both invited to attend the awarding ceremonies and represent the RF Online Website in the DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2008.

After the announcement of winners for some of the other categories, Janette Toral, the owner of DigitalFilipino.com, introduced the Games Category and the criteria they used to judge the nominees. RF Online Philippines was announced as the winner for the Games Category for its ability to give the viewers a sense of gaming atmosphere, as well as allow players a chance to contribute to the contents of the website.

The website was regarded as a site that allowed viewers to feel the game through the design as the content aided the viewers to understand what the game is about. Myla Rumbaoa was also asked to give a short speech about the website.

The Official RF Online Philippines website is the 2nd Level Up! game website to win this annual recognition, with ROSE Online being the first Games Category winner back in the 1st DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards.

Having fought in an intense series of battles in the Novus Chip Assault Squad (NCAS) Tournament for the right to fight at Level Up! Live, the Immortals from Bellato Praxis have come a long way. They are now only one more step away from the RF Novus Elite Squad (NEST) Championship, with their opponent from the City Under Siege tournament still being determined.

Here, they speak about their experiences and their learnings:

Who among the Immortals represented the guild for the NCAS tournament?

In last year's NCAS tournament, your guild fought against the DemonZ Guild of Nexus. How did you all prepare for that?
DemonZ has been a good competitor since ancient times. They were known as pillars of RF online and as far as we know, they are obviously a guild to reckon with. In order to meet them head-on we try to beat the requirements to better them. We do BD, PL and hunt equips. Of course, practice by heart. We learn a lot from day to day practice.

How did the guild become one of the top 2 guilds in your server? [ GM note: To be able to join the NCAS tournament, your guild must belong in the top 2 guilds having the most Chip Breaks for a certain amount of time. ~ Vyrien ]
Chip War participation is key. You have to participate so that everyone will notice that your guild is exerting effort to win. Obviously this is one practical way for people to remember the guild name – Immortals. For the name to become immortalized in their minds.

How did you choose your line-up?
First and foremost, we based it on the natural playing skills of our guildmates (players) and the level of their characters. Those who exerted effort to make their characters better have the capacity to perform well in tournaments since they are focused on developing their characters to become weapons of mass destruction. We planned it out, thought of the best character combinations in the battle field and planned and planned.

Have you ever believed in the saying, “wala sa gamit ang lakas” ("items belie strength")?
Definitely not. How else can you defeat someone or a guild if you don’t have the right weapons? Of course, skills and experience are still important.

What tips can you give those who would want to follow in your footsteps?
Personally, I do not believe that any player can fill our shoes or any other player or guild’s shoes, for that matter. Not to be boastful or rude but nobody can ever do that. Nobody can experience the exact same experience that we had unless we are linked by some sort of gadget. Hehe. I cannot disclose any strategies per se since it was a cumulative effort from the guild. Everyone shared something (through observation and experience) and we just tried to put those that we learned together as strategies. The best thing they can do is to apply what they have learned from the game.

What are your expectations for this coming Novus Elite Squad Tournament at Level Up! Live?
The battle of the best and the fiercest has come. Every competing guild would be preparing against their opponents. Likewise, we do not expect it to be as easy as eating peanuts. We would rather anticipate than assume.

What should the players be expecting from you?
We will give them the fight they will never forget. The fight that even after years have come to pass will still be immortalized as the best. If they deserve to fight us, then we will give everything we have in our arsenal.

Any message to your team’s fans?
We have come this far with the chosen few who we believe also deserve to win. But we are not here to commend others for their bravery and showmanship. We are here to claim victory. We rule them out. Immortals rule!

     1. The use of illegal substances (alcohol, drugs, etc.) by any participant is strictly prohibited; use of said items will result in:
          A. Immediate disqualification from the tournament
          B. Removal from tournament grounds

General Event Guidelines
     1. LU! Live is open to all Level Up! Gamers and Enthusiasts.
     2. Everyone must comply with the security measures and registration procedures for the event upon entry.
     3. Everyone will be subject to security checks and all bags and packages shall be subject to inspection. Non-compliance will be grounds for denial of entry into the event area.
     4. The following items are not allowed inside the World Trade Center Level Up! Live Event: Bottles, Cans, Guns, Knives, Laser Pointers or Pens, Illegal Drugs, as well as items capable of producing a flame (lighter, matches, candles, firecrackers, etc.) . This rule also applies to the hotel.
     5. The World Trade Center and the Organizers will not be liable / responsible for your lost or damaged property. Make sure to take proper care of your property and personal belongings at all times.
     6. Observe Proper Dress Code. No slippers and sandos allowed within the event area.
     7. Anyone intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will be denied entry.
     8. Strictly NO SMOKING inside the World Trade Center .
     9. Absolutely no throwing of any item of any kind inside the LU! Live! Event. Those who are caught shall be escorted out of the event premises
     10. In case of Medical Emergency , please call the attention of any of our LU! Live Marshals or proceed to the First Aid Station near the entrance. In case of Emergency , file orderly and calmly towards the Emergency Exit Gate nearest you. Follow the instructions of our marshals and ushers so that everyone may exit safely.

•  For everyones safety, these guidelines shall be strictly enforced. We reserve the right to refuse entry or escort violators out of the World Trade Center LU! Live Event Venue.
•  Force Majore or Acts or God are beyond the control of Level Up!, the organizers and tournament officials.

After the solution to the recent gold dupe was implemented a few days ago and banned majority of those who did it, we began to review the overall damage on the game economy that this hack caused.

Based on DB evidence, numbers as well as feedback from the community, the GMs, the Vanguards and also from our field agents, there was an oversupply of in-game currency and gold - as high as 500%. This simply means that items were overpriced and most players had too much cash.

We all know that the in-game economy and inflation plays a huge part in the success and integrity of the game. This also makes it unfair to everyone since the value of rare items diminishes the longer the economy is left in shambles.

We then conducted a feasibility analysis if manual economy and server restoration plans were still feasible. We found out that they would no longer work within a realistic time frame. The damage done was too great, and according to estimates, manual restoration of server economies could take up to a year.

Our objective is to maintain game balance for all servers and for all races. As the RF Online Philippines' publisher, we made a promise to the players that we would ensure that they have a game that they could enjoy. Rest assured that an option to rollback was the last thing on our list but, upon a long and thorough analysis, and consultation with the developers, we decided that this is in the best interest of the game and the community.

Hence, we are doing an emergency maintenance today, May 30, 2008 (started 1pm) to do the following

• Rollback all character data to May 23, 2008 4am – This means that all EXP, levels gained, upgrades, UTS, Chip War states, trades, etc will be reverted to that date and time.
• Galactic Credits – All GC consumed during the rollback period will be returned. This will be processed on Monday, June 2, 2008. All unconsumed, converted top ups into GCs will not be affected by the rollback.
• Banned List – the DB for banned characters as of today, May 30, 2008 WILL NOT be rolled back.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

Upon going back online from this long maintenance (possibly around 9 hours), we shall give the following as compensation:

• FREE 14 Days Premium Subscription to everyone – If you still have Premium days left, this shall be added to your total.
• 5 Jades of Abundance, 14 Days duration - boosting EXP by +50%
  • This will be inserted to characters of an account (assuming that the account is qualified for compensation, see below)

QUALIFICATION FOR COMPENSATION

• Your account must be active and have logged in at least once from
  • May 23, 2008 4:00 am to May 30, 2008 11:30 am

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Trust us, this was not an easy decision even for us.

There are still a lot to be expected for RF Online, from future patches (higher level caps, Space War, and so on) to even more exciting events. The game would not be able to support these endeavors if the server economies were not restored.

In the long run, RF Online will be a better game since there still is an “equal playing field”, the economies are stable and we were able to fix a major game exploit.

We have you, our dear community, to thank for this. From your vigilance, to your great suggestions on the forums and from iRL talks, we (both Level Up and CCR) are now aware of the other problems that we have to fix. Those are already in the pipeline and solutions are being designed. But that’s another long story.

In the meantime, we thank all our players for the continued loyalty and support that they have shown for RF Online, which is the reason that makes us strive to work hard to serve you even better.
